Nurse Manager ICU
About The Position
The Nurse Manager for the ICU manages the department’s daily operations. The role includes managing resources, process improvement activities, staffing and scheduling, and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and timely patient care. The Nurse Manager monitors departmental financial performance, ensuring expenses and productivity align with workload and meet fiscal targets. The role also leads departmental activities and monitors care to meet quality and customer service goals, maintains effective two-way communication with staff, and leads or participates in multidisciplinary and interdepartmental initiatives to improve care, services, and efficiencies. The manager may need to assist with patient care on the nursing unit.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Kentucky.
- Three years of job-related experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA), required within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution.
- Five or more years of experience as a leader in the designated area.
- Recent experience and/or certification in the specialty.
