Nurse Manager ICU
About The Position
HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Manager to provide leadership and expertise in the ICU, ensuring patients receive high-quality, efficient care. The manager is responsible for safe, quality patient care in assigned departments on a 24-hour basis and for ensuring nursing practices, policies, and procedures comply with legal, accrediting, and regulatory requirements. The role promotes continuity and coordination of care through collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, physicians, patients, and hospital departments. The manager also develops and implements ongoing programs to monitor and improve nursing care quality, patient safety, core-measure performance, and service excellence.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations.
- Nursing diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- ACLS certification within six months of hire or transfer.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- PC skills.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and take responsibility for safe, quality patient care in assigned departments on a 24-hour basis.
- Ensure nursing practices, policies, and procedures meet legal, accrediting, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote continuity of care through an interdisciplinary team approach.
- Share relevant patient information and collaborate with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members regarding progress and treatment.
- Develop and implement programs to measure, monitor, assess, and improve nursing care quality, core-measure performance, patient safety, and service excellence.
- Coordinate patient care effectively with other hospital services and departments.
