Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York.
  • BSN from an accredited school of nursing required, currently licensed in the state of NY
  • Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience including two years in area of specialization.
  • Strong ability to listen, operate at times with ambiguity and be adept at moving quickly to implement change at a rapid pace once decisions have been made.
  • Demonstrate ability to partner and work collaboratively with key leaders and physicians within the organization.
  • Ongoing current RN registration.
  • BLS required at hire or transfer until ACLS obtained. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained.
  • PALS
  • CNOR preferred, otherwise required within 1 yr.

Nice To Haves

  • one year in nursing leadership position preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of patient care and patient flow in the Operating Room.
  • Consults with staff, physicians, anesthesia members and other Periop Leaders as necessary to ensure patient needs are met and quality outcomes are achieved.
  • Works under the direction of the Operating Room Director and plays an integral role in patient flow and clinical operations.
  • Oversees all Performance Improvement and CQI activities and initiatives.
  • Maintains full oversight of the formulation and monitoring of plans for improvement of clinical services, patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
  • Collaborates and problem solves with the Nursing Director, Administrator, physicians, Department Heads and house supervision to assure that patient care needs as related to other departments/disciplines are met.
