About The Position
The Nurse Extern performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification while caring for hospitalized patients. Care is provided under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Depending on the demands and needs of the assigned unit, the Nurse Extern may be cross-trained to work as a Unit Secretary. The role also performs other duties related to this work.
Requirements
- Completion of the first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.
- Pass the NCLEX within 12 months after graduating.
- AHA BLS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient-care duties within the limits of training and certification.
- Provide care to hospitalized patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- May be cross-trained to operate as a Unit Secretary based on the assigned unit’s demands and needs.
- Perform other duties related to the work described.
