About The Position

Reporting to the Care Team Manager, the Resident Care Coordinator is responsible for supporting the highest standard of care and service provision to residents living on a given neighborhood. As an experienced practitioner, the resident care coordinator acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, coordination of resident care, and provide support and teaching to the resident care team (including residents and residents’ families) within a collaborative environment. The routine procedures are generally predetermined, but critical thinking and independent judgment are an integral part of the position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant long term care nursing experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Knowledge of practical application of a broad range of clinical interventions
  • Demonstrates ability to work as a team member
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of long-term care needs of adults and their families
  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal/consultative relationships
  • Demonstrates self-direction
  • Demonstrates ability to accept and implement change
  • Ability to delegate appropriately.

Nice To Haves

  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
