About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Maternal & Children’s Clinical Integration, the Maternal and Children’s Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children’s Provincial Programs’ education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Eligibility to pursue or current instructor certification is required
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in an adult educator role
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in program, education and resource development
  • 3 years of recent experience in perinatal/obs and/or pediatric nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in coordination, implementation and evaluation
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines, care standards, benchmarks, service delivery
  • Knowledge of quality and safety initiatives, including accreditation processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory body requirements in policy/procedure development
  • Knowledge of adult education/learning principles for programs/strategies

Nice To Haves

  • Master level preferred for Bachelor Degree in Nursing
  • Advanced maternal child training and/or certification preferred
  • Instructor trainer certification preferred eg) FHS, NRP, PEARs, PALS
  • Preference to a Master level of Nursing, Education or Health Administration

Responsibilities

  • Development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children’s Provincial Programs’ education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.
  • Development, delivery & evaluation of the maternal &/or pediatric programs.
  • Support the creation of clinical & standard work, educational modules
  • Facilitate groups to achieve deliverables
  • Assess learning needs of clinicians
  • Support staff & physicians related to maternal/child care.
  • Conduct needs assessments & develop & deliver presentations.
  • Establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships
  • Interpret clinical outcomes and provide recommendations
  • Conduct information searches, analysis and literature reviews
  • Prioritize, interpret and respond to issues in a timely manner
  • Coach/guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks
  • Build and maintain relationships based on open communication.
  • Build and maintain relationships based on trust and accountability
