About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Maternal & Children's Clinical Integration, the Pediatric Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children's Provincial Programs education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in pediatric nursing
  • One (1) year experience developing/implementing/evaluating programs/resources
  • One (1) year of experience in adult education or a teaching role
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Advanced - Leadership skills
  • Advanced - Writing skills
  • Advanced - Verbal communication skills
  • Clinical knowledge and skill set to support maternal/child policies & procedures
  • Knowledge in principles of adult education
  • Knowledge of quality and safety initiatives, including accreditation processes.
  • Clinical knowledge and skill set to support pediatric educational programs
  • Ability able to build and maintain relationships based on trust.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs of clinicians
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to prioritize, interpret and respond to issues in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced pediatric training/cert and instructor trainer cert preferred
  • Master level of Nursing, Education or Health Administration, is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children's Provincial Programs education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.
  • Conduct needs assessments & develop & deliver presentations.
  • Coach/guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks.
  • Support the creation of clinical & standard work, educational modules.
  • Facilitate groups to achieve deliverables.
  • Develop policies, procedures and standards.
  • Support maternal/child policies & procedures.
  • Support pediatric educational programs.
