About The Position

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Coordinator is responsible for integrating experience, skills and knowledge from the nursing theory to provide direct client care, assess client/patient care needs, clinical coordination, clinical problem solving, and client/patient and staff education, in Acute Care and Emergency/Outpatient areas. The incumbent will contribute to the development of knowledge and the improvement of practice for Acute and Emergency/Outpatient clients/patients by leading, developing and implementing best practices, providing clinical consultation/services and developing health interdependent partnerships with essential stakeholders. The incumbent will provide a leadership role in the areas of assessment, client care and education. The Coordinator is also responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of client care and may assume delegate administrative, clinical and educational responsibilities. Other duties may include, but not limited to, participating in policy and procedure development, monitoring standards of practice and planning/developing/maintaining quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years experience in acute care within the past five (5) years
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered/eligible with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of SK - CRPNS

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Ability to function as a role model for staff and physicians
  • Ability to teach staff and patients/residents/clients/families
