About The Position

As a Nurse Assistant in the Float Pool, you will work under the direction of Registered Nurses to provide compassionate patient care while supporting patient safety, comfort, and dignity. You will contribute frontline observations to care planning and team discussions and respond to changing patient situations. The role includes direct patient care, communication with the responsible RN, support during emergent situations, ongoing learning, and adherence to Henry Ford Health System's Team Member Standards of Excellence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.
• Meet at least one of the following qualification pathways: completion of a Nurse Assistant program (including programs with similar titles such as PCT or PAT); current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; foreign-trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license; completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; or at least one year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar role.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification is preferred.
• One year of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws, monitor and record vital signs, and conduct chemstick testing to support patient assessments.
• Participate in team roundings and contribute observations to individualized patient care planning.
• Identify and promptly report patient concerns, safety observations, and team needs to the responsible RN.
• Respond to emergent situations by following established protocols and supporting the clinical team.
• Engage in continuing education to expand clinical skills.
• Uphold Henry Ford Health System's Team Member Standards of Excellence in patient interactions and team collaboration.
