About The Position

Under the direction and supervision of the responsible Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Assistant performs specific patient care duties to meet patient safety and comfort needs. The role provides input to assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care, responds to emergent situations according to established procedures, and recognizes and participates in personal continuing education. The Nurse Assistant follows Henry Ford Health System Team Member Standards of Excellence in all interactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Meet at least one of the listed qualification pathways: completion of a Nurse Assistant program (including comparable PCT or PAT programs); current enrollment in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing; foreign-trained and licensed RN relocated to the United States without a Michigan RN license; completion of a Medical Assistant program, with or without experience; or at least one year of prior experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar role.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification preferred.
