About The Position

The Helper Bees partners with insurance carriers and health plans to support older adults in remaining independent, healthy, and at home. This is a per-diem, 1099 independent contractor opportunity for supplemental income. Assessments are conducted face to face in claimants’ homes.

The Nurse Assessor completes in-depth cognitive and functional assessments, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, and objective observation and reporting of each individual’s current status. The assessor coordinates scheduling with the client or their point of contact, submits each assessment through an online application within 24 hours, and responds to clarification requests from the review team by telephone within 48 hours. An assessment is not complete until all clarifications have been answered.

Compensation is $125 per completed assessment within a 35-mile radius. Payment is made upon completion of each assessment. The role requires a portable Windows computer or a tablet with a camera, as well as reliable internet access.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• At least 5 years of experience as an RN.
• Familiarity with a broad range of medications and conditions common in the geriatric population.
• Reliable internet access for submitting assessments.
• Current computer proficiency and ability to learn technology quickly.
• Friendly, compassionate, dedicated, and patient personality.
• Prompt and thoughtful communication.

Nice To Haves

• Previous quality assurance or chart audit/review experience.
