About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is hiring a Nurse Apprentice for its Neuro Surgical Trauma Unit, which has 18 critical care beds and 17 step-down beds. The unit cares for postoperative patients and patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, seizures, strokes, and other neurological disorders. This PRN role supports unit clinical staff with clerical, receptionist, and patient-service coordination. It also provides nursing care and related nonprofessional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort, performing CNA or UAP duties under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with flexible availability for weeknights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Requirements

Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board.
Hold Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Nice To Haves

Six months of patient care experience in an acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient-service coordination.
Perform nursing care services and related nonprofessional services to meet patients’ personal needs and comfort, as a CNA or UAP under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for assigned age groups, as applicable: neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
