About The Position

The Nurse Aide provides direct support to residents at the South Mountain Restoration Center, assisting with daily care, rehabilitation activities, and communication needs. The role helps create a secure, welcoming environment and promotes residents’ safety, health, independence, and overall well-being. The position is full time, 40 hours per week, with work hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM and a 30-minute lunch. Days on and off rotate, and the assigned schedule includes weekends and holidays. Telework is not available.

Requirements

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
• Because the position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility, active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry is required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer requires a medical examination and drug screening.
• A conditional offer requires submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including Pennsylvania State Police and FBI clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents is listed as an alternative minimum experience and training qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with hygiene and physical needs, and provide emotional support to promote a safe and healthy atmosphere.
• Help residents participate in rehabilitation programs that increase independence and overall well-being.
• Use therapeutic communication and report changes in resident status to appropriate staff.
• Teach and assist residents with daily living skills, including bed making, personal care, and mealtime habits.
• Escort residents to appointments and encourage participation in programs and activities.
• Attend training sessions to maintain and improve job skills.
