Requirements
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with tasks such as bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility, and other daily needs based on their care plans
- Apply basic safety devices and report hazards, unusual behavior, and equipment issues to nursing staff
- Watch for changes in resident condition and share important information with professional staff
- Keep resident rooms clean and organized and assist with linen changes and supply restocking
- Escort and move residents safely to appointments, activities, and other locations
- Document care and services accurately to meet state and facility requirements
