The PRN Nuclear Medicine Specialist delivers care to patients utilizing the Nuclear Medicine Specialist Process. This role operates and maintains quality control for all imaging equipment and radioactivity assaying devices. The specialist prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician, and administers and records isotope dosages in accordance with established departmental protocol. They observe patients during procedures, collect, prepare, and analyze biologic specimens, and prepare data for interpretation. This position also participates in the accreditation process and follows radiation safety techniques when disposing of radioactive materials. The specialist operates nuclear medicine computers to enhance the diagnostic value of information obtained from procedures and follows internal protocols for processing computer studies to achieve high-quality films. They maintain records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements, logging patient dose administered, progress notes, and other pertinent data. Additionally, the specialist schedules patients for nuclear medicine examinations and reviews patient charts for pertinent history. This is a full-time, day shift position with a work location at 1000 Flower Mound Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028. Work hours are PRN – As Needed, Day Shift, Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, based on clinic need. Travel is required up to 25% to surrounding clinics in Flower Mound & Denton as needed, with mileage reimbursement provided.
