About The Position

The Appointment Scheduling Specialist is responsible for delivering care to patients by scheduling all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests, and studies by the physician. This role involves answering phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, conducting patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care, and scheduling tests, procedures, and referral appointments. The specialist will communicate with patients regarding appointments and instructions for procedures and tests, and may collect fees such as co-pays/co-insurance. Additionally, they will gather insurance information and patient personal data, and demonstrate positive professional customer service in all patient, staff, and visitor contacts. This position is full-time, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 25% travel to Plano & Rockwall, Sunnyvale clinics.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Requires strong customer skills.
Good communication skills.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

Nice To Haves

2 years related experience in Healthcare environment (strongly preferred)
Bilingual in English / Spanish (strongly preferred)

Responsibilities
