About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Hospitalist medicine in Bristol, Tennessee. The role involves providing nocturnist coverage, managing patient admissions, cross-coverage, and discharge planning. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and accurate documentation in the Epic EMR system. The coverage period is ongoing starting August 28, 2026.
Requirements
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC)
- Active Tennessee RN License
- Active Tennessee NP License
- Tennessee DEA with TN address
- ACLS Certification
- Graduate of accredited NP program
- Documentation of MMR/Varicella immunity
- Two-Step TB test
- Case logs for previous 2 years
Nice To Haves
- 2 years recent Hospitalist experience; new graduates considered
Responsibilities
- Provide nocturnist hospital medicine coverage, including patient admissions and cross-coverage.
- Perform comprehensive histories and physicals, and manage discharge planning.
- Collaborate with attending physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary team.
- Respond to medical emergencies and code situations as needed.
- Document all patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR.
