Organization: VUH Inpatient Cardiac Stepdown Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating closely with physicians and other care providers to manage a distinct patient population in the inpatient acute care setting. Working with hospitalized patients, the APP provides specialized care and supports the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical services. This role requires a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and clinical education, with the APP responsible for adhering to established clinical pathways and protocols to ensure safe and effective patient care. The APP will demonstrate advanced medical knowledge, clinical and technical competence, sound clinical judgment, and professional communication skills. In addition, the APP is accountable for timely and compliant documentation and actively participates in professional development and competency validation to maintain high standards of care. SHIFT 6:30a-4:30a 10-hour shift position (average 4 shifts per week, although there is some flexing depending on schedule. For example, 3 shifts one week and 5 shifts the next.) Covers weekends and holidays on a rotation with the team (usually every third to fourth weekend). Department Description: Each year, the Department of Vascular Surgery provides comprehensive care to approximately 6,000 patients who suffer from vascular diseases and conditions. We treat peripheral arterial disease, carotid disease and visceral and renovascular disorders, as well as aneurysm disease of the thorax, abdomen and extremities. Minimally invasive techniques are routinely applied in the management of peripheral interventions, as well as in the management of aneurysms. As part of the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute, we provide care in a single location for our patients with cardiovascular disease. -No OR work in this role -This is an Acute Care NP role. AGACNP or ACNP certifications required.
