About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for a General Surgery NP/PA. The primary focus is on General Surgery OR coverage, but there may be needs in Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Urology, and ENT. The practice handles an average of 90-110 cases per week, with 10-30 cases per day. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The assignment is expected to be long-term as they search for a permanent candidate. The EMR system used is EPIC, and credentialing takes approximately 60 days.

Requirements

Active Georgia licensure
Board certification
AHA BLS certification
Minimum 1-year General Surgery experience or equivalent
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) OR Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Georgia OR Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Georgia
National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP]) OR National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Order and interpret diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
