About The Position

This offer is for a new graduate position in Computer Science for Rio Tinto's operations in Saguenay. We are looking for candidates with a passion for new technologies and a desire to apply them within the energy and hydrology team. The position involves close collaboration with data scientists, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to identify, design, and implement innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an interest in translating user needs into detailed functional specifications, participating in solution design, and collaborating with development teams. Interests and aptitudes for equipment, technology, and information validation/quality control are important assets. This position offers exposure to multiple technologies and programming languages. Curiosity, autonomy, and a desire to learn are essential. Experience in Web development (Angular) and cloud solutions (AWS, Azure) is an asset. Knowledge of Python, as well as C#, C++, or Fortran, is also desirable. Many IT challenges are to be met, such as modernizing the code for the entire hydrological scenario forecasting chain. Requirements

  • Must graduate in 2026 (or have graduated in 2025 or 2024).
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
  • Less than two years of relevant experience (local or international).
  • Right to work in Canada.
  • Proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and autonomy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Web development (Angular).
  • Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of C#, C++, or Fortran.
