Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or an equivalent order - a considerable asset.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in IT development, ideally acquired in a consulting engineering or professional services environment.
  • Good knowledge of industrial environments and systems such as ERP, MES, SCADA, automation, industrial IoT, and IIoT.
  • Proficiency in common programming languages (Python, C#, JavaScript) and relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Understanding of industrial data exchange protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, etc.).
  • Analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong sense of customer service, active listening, and ability to simplify technical concepts.
  • Autonomy, rigor, organizational skills, and technical leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a multidisciplinary environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an analyst and technical advisor to clients to identify their digital and technological needs.
  • Design, develop, and deploy software solutions or systems (applications, monitoring tools, automation, equipment connectivity).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (automation, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, etc.) to develop integrated and harmonized solutions.
  • Participate in the integration of industrial systems at client sites (MES, ERP, SCADA, IIoT).
  • Contribute to technological watch and recommend continuous improvements to existing systems.
  • Apply best practices in software security, performance, and quality.
  • Adapt tools to specific client needs while ensuring their scalability and sustainability.
  • Train users, write technical documentation, and provide post-commissioning support.
  • Maintain a trusting relationship with clients through rigorous follow-up and a results-oriented approach.
  • Participate in the development of service offerings, the writing of technical proposals, and the estimation of required efforts.
