About The Position

The Alliance & Category management function defines and manages the product offering, positioning, and pricing across the product life cycle of a given portfolio, guiding the direct/indirect sales teams on such product related dimensions. They are responsible to plan the business objective for a specific portfolio, and to achieve this plan through on going adjustments of the product related decisions. Acts as the lead expert in competition product knowledge in all dimensions (product knowledge, pricing, marketing, customer requirements). Communicates, briefs, supports direct and indirect sales force on product strategies. Defines advertising, and demand generation priorities at strategic and tactical levels in partnership with the Marketing function. Sales compensated role. Quota is an overlay. These jobs focus on selling to customers, typically through work that occurs outside HPE offices. Alliance & Category Manager – North America We are seeking a high-impact Category Manager to lead growth across North America , with a strong focus on accelerating Alletra sales, increasing unit volume, and expanding penetration into new customer accounts. This role sits at the center of strategy, execution, and sales enablement — ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is passionate about scaling infrastructure technology through strong field alignment and data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of data center experience, ideally selling direct or through the channel space
  • Strong knowledge of Alletra 4000 product portfolio
  • Understanding and ability to formulate strategic category plans
  • Extensive experience in driving sales initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in category management, sales strategy, or infrastructure technology environments
  • Proven ability to drive server or compute growth, ideally within enterprise or channel ecosystems
  • Track record of new account acquisition and expanding market penetration
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn insights into action

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive category strategy for the Alletra server portfolio across North America
  • Accelerate unit growth through targeted sales plays, demand generation, and field engagement
  • Identify and penetrate net-new accounts, expanding footprint beyond existing customer base
  • Partner closely with sales leadership, marketing, and product teams to execute go-to-market strategies
  • Analyze pipeline, conversion rates, and market trends to continuously refine and optimize performance
  • Build scalable programs that improve acquisition, expansion, and overall regional growth impact
  • Responsible for driving the HPE growth for HPE Alletra 4000 portfolio
