About The Position

Wenco International Mining Systems, a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery, provides innovative technologies to the mining and material movement sectors, focusing on sustainable and safe operations. The Sales Manager, reporting to the Regional Manager, is primarily responsible for driving revenue through new client acquisition in their designated region. This role also supports the growth of existing strategic accounts, though new business development is the main focus. The Sales Manager will utilize Wenco's internal sales process, industry network, market knowledge, and regional sales strategy to identify, nurture, and close sales opportunities for Wenco's products and services. Collaboration with regional operational, technical, and client services teams is essential to align customer needs with business objectives and Wenco's delivery capabilities. As a Wenco ambassador, the individual must act with integrity and professionalism, recommending appropriate solutions to ensure long-term customer success, operational excellence, and sustainable business growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within the mining or mining services industry
  • Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance or Mining or equivalent experience in progressive roles.
  • Demonstrated success in selling high-end solutions within a mining and industrial environment
  • Technical background, with experience in engineering, mining, or technology business
  • Intermediate-level sales related ERP skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Comfortable presenting to large groups from varied backgrounds
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, results driven
  • Strong ability to manage time and priorities
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of modern business systems

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Regional Sales, Profit and Operational Targets
  • Ensuring best commercial practice is achieved at all times
  • Achievement of annual sales targets including revenue and pipeline growth
  • Actively develop, support and deliver initiatives to target competitor products
  • Collaborate with the broader Wenco business stakeholders to convert a greater proportion of opportunities
  • Establish and promote trusting relationships with key internal and external customers
  • Establish a planning process linked to the sales CRM and pipeline schedule where accurate forecasts are maintained
  • Responsible for building the Wenco brand in the region through the attendance of tradeshows, securing opportunities for co-writing papers, delivering presentations at events, and supporting the Marketing team in identifying media and events to promote the brand
  • Support the development and expansion of selected existing customer accounts, with primary focus remaining on new business acquisition and market growth
  • Develop long-term strategic relationships with key mining stakeholders, OEMs, partners, and industry influencers within the region
  • Coordinate effectively with Client Services, Product Management, Engineering, and Project teams to support customer success and business growth
  • Promote customer-centric focus, innovation in products, services and ways of interacting with internal customers which add value to the customer and Wenco
  • Positively influence the customer perception through effective representation of Wenco and related products in the market place
  • Treat customers with respect, seek customer insight proactively, build relationships of trust with customers and encourage customer focus among all employees and contractors
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints effectively and in a timely manner
  • Continually improve self-knowledge of Wenco product and related mining processes
  • Gather and communicate market and competitor information
  • Learn and adopt the Miller Heiman sales methodology as promoted by Wenco
  • Have a clear understanding of how information technology can benefit mines in terms of safety, productivity, maintenance and management.
