About The Position

The Nordic Spa Maintenance Technician helps deliver a comfortable, safe, and well-maintained guest experience at Alyeska Nordic Spa. The role involves cleaning and maintaining the facility throughout each shift and operating pools, saunas, steam rooms, the pool deck, and outdoor areas for safe guest use. The technician is expected to create polished guest experiences and provide knowledgeable, service-focused support throughout the facility. The position includes addressing assigned maintenance work orders, promptly reporting problems that are beyond the employee’s ability to fix, following washing schedules and daily checklists, monitoring and adjusting pool water chemistry, and checking pool filtration systems. It also involves keeping the pool deck and outdoor walkways, pathways, and green spaces clean and safe. The technician contributes to a collaborative workplace and communicates with guests and colleagues in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner. Other duties may be assigned. The work takes place in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment and may require long shifts, late hours, weekends, and holidays because the spa operates year-round. The role involves spending much of the shift on one’s feet, handling competing priorities, and working outdoors for a considerable portion of the shift in all seasons.

Requirements

Ability to lift, move, and handle pool chemicals responsibly.

Nice To Haves

Previous spa or hotel maintenance experience preferred.
Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent Alyeska Nordic Spa with a high level of service excellence and maintain knowledge of the facility.
Address assigned maintenance work orders promptly to prevent minor issues from becoming significant problems.
Immediately report or log maintenance issues that are beyond the employee’s ability to fix.
Complete washing schedules and daily checklist tasks as assigned.
Take and test water samples, monitor pool water chemistry, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
Check the pool filtration system at prescribed times during the shift.
Keep the pool deck safe and clean, and clean, clear, and maintain outdoor walkways, pathways, and green spaces.
Clean and maintain the facility throughout the shift and operate pools, saunas, steam rooms, the pool deck, and outdoor areas for safe guest use.
Complete assigned tasks on time and to a quality standard that does not usually require follow-up.
Contribute to a collaborative workplace and support community, shared goals, and acceptance.
Promote positive energy, teamwork, excitement, and fun through work conduct.
Complete work processes and checklists in a way that supports a peaceful guest experience.
