About The Position
As a Caregiver with Village Caregiving, you will provide in-home, non-medical caregiving to individuals who need assistance with activities of daily living so they can remain in their own homes. The position is identified as a night-shift role in Salem, West Virginia.
Requirements
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor with a good bedside manner.
- Outstanding communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical endurance to complete required tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiver experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication.
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside, including doctor’s appointments and walks.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own, including preparing meals.
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members.
- Report unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members.
- Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
