About The Position

Faculty create a learning environment that helps students reach their goals and provide effective instruction within the framework of the course outline and subject. Requirements

• Applicants must have a referral to become an Ivy Tech Center for Lifelong Learning instructor; other applicants will be rejected.
• Applicants must submit a resume.
• Demonstrate an appropriate level of expertise in the specific instructional area(s), based on previous experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
• Use available resources effectively to enhance instructional methods.
• Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, and required materials lists.
• Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that support learning and create a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies that engage students in learning.
• Interact professionally and cooperatively with students and co-workers, and comply with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
• Know and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and other learning environments.
• Conduct activities in accordance with FERPA, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
• Appreciate, respect, and promote diversity of people, styles, and views.
• Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
