About The Position

The Night Warehouse Manager will lead with a safety mindset, ensuring associates remain injury-free by championing safety procedures, processes, and training to create and maintain a safety-first culture. This role involves overseeing and developing warehouse associates through coaching, training, problem resolution, and leading by example. The manager will foster a cohesive organization by maintaining open communication and directing the workforce for efficient workflow, while also driving associate engagement and retention. Responsibilities include participating in building high-performing teams through interviewing and hiring, reviewing performance, coaching on productivity and safety targets, and delivering disciplinary action. The manager will lead and direct associates to achieve accurate order fulfillment, staging, and loading, and oversee the preparation of the warehouse for the next shift. Monitoring operational information like "mis-picks" and productivity reports to ensure shift targets are met and preferred methods are followed is crucial. Specific duties include designating dock locations for inbound carriers, ensuring product is stocked according to food safety and FIFO processes, monitoring replenishment, and overseeing will call on the day shift. The role also involves maintaining the physical condition and safety of the warehouse and equipment, preparing work orders for repairs, and requisitions for equipment. Collaboration with the operations management team to identify inventory shrink and develop action plans, as well as analyzing current operations and recommending improvements for expense and cost control, are key. Regular inspection of the facility for safety hazards and ensuring Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements are followed are also part of the role. Effectively scheduling working shifts using planning tools like Microsoft Excel is required, along with performing other duties assigned by the manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce required.
  • Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office).
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP certification a plus.
  • PCQI certification a plus.

  • Participate in building high-performing teams by interviewing and hiring warehouse personnel, reviewing performance, coaching on productivity and safety targets, and delivering disciplinary action.
  • Lead and direct associates to achieve accurate orders that are then staged and loaded on the trucks.
  • Oversee the preparation of the warehouse for shipping or receiving on the next shift.
  • Monitor operational information, such as "mis-picks" and productivity reports, to ensure the entire shift meets rates and follows preferred methods.
  • Designate dock locations for inbound carriers, ensure product is stocked in appropriate location in accordance with food safety and FIFO processes & procedures, and monitor replenishment activity.
