Night Custodial Supervisor
About The Position
The Night Custodial Supervisor supervises night-shift custodial staff and coordinates cleaning activities to ensure campus buildings are clean, safe, and ready for daily operations. The role assigns and coordinates nightly cleaning tasks, inspects custodial work, trains staff in cleaning procedures and safe equipment and chemical use, and monitors attendance and task completion. The supervisor maintains cleaning supplies, reports equipment and maintenance needs, coordinates cleaning and setup for campus events, and assists the snow removal team as required. The role also addresses performance concerns and communicates shift updates and outstanding issues to the Custodial Manager and incoming staff. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Assign and coordinate nightly cleaning tasks and work alongside staff as needed.
- Inspect work performed by custodians under direct supervision to ensure established cleaning standards are met.
- Train staff on proper cleaning procedures and the safe use of equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
- Monitor staff attendance and ensure assigned duties are completed within scheduled work hours.
- Maintain adequate cleaning supplies and report equipment repair or replacement needs.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and unusual conditions identified during the shift.
- Coordinate cleaning and setup needs for campus events and special activities.
- Assist the snow removal team as required.
- Address performance concerns and administer disciplinary actions in accordance with University policies.
- Communicate shift updates and outstanding issues to the Custodial Manager and incoming staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
