About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is hiring a part-time Custodial Night Porter in the Kakaako area of Oahu, Hawaii. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, for 15 hours per week, at $17.00 per hour. The porter helps maintain clean and inviting spaces for staff and visitors. Training is provided, and prior custodial experience is not required, though it is desirable.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a prescreen check.
• Be able to perform tasks in various weather conditions.
• Be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Be physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling 25 to 50 pounds, and performing tasks involving stretching, kneeling, bending, crawling, climbing, and pressing.
• Safely and effectively operate cleaning equipment.
• Be willing to learn and participate in training.
• Work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Have good English communication skills and work well in a team.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in custodial or cleaning roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Clean, dust, and sanitize restrooms and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste in designated areas.
• Restock supplies such as soap and paper products.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards.
• Ensure a clean and orderly environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor.
