About The Position

The Heritage Community seeks a dedicated Night Coach to work the graveyard shift at Elevate Academy. The role requires working independently while contributing as a team member, and staying alert and attentive to provide students with a positive, safe milieu. Night Coaches supervise students overnight, offer support and guidance when needed, and assist students with their initial morning tasks. The Heritage Community is a nonprofit treatment program for adolescents founded in 1984. New hires must successfully complete a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal records. Schedules are available part time or full time. Part-time employees work three shifts per week, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM, with Saturday night shifts ending at 8:00 AM. Full-time schedules are either Saturday–Tuesday, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM, with Saturday ending at 8:00 AM, or Thursday–Sunday, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM, with Friday and Saturday ending at 8:00 AM. Schedules are coordinated upon hire.

Requirements

Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night and be energetic in the morning to assist students.
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor adolescents successfully.
Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of mental health.
Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
Engaging and empathetic character, balanced with tenacity and determination.
Good problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
Proficient communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.
Successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal records.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during the night and provide a safe, secure, caregiving environment.
Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who wake during the night and provide support and guidance during escalated moments.
Wake students in the morning and supervise them during their initial morning tasks.
Ensure paperwork and documentation requirements are completed effectively.
