About The Position

The Heritage Community is hiring a Night Coach for its graveyard shift at Elevate Academy. The role involves working independently while contributing as a team member and maintaining an alert, attentive presence to provide students with a positive, safe milieu. The Heritage Community is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) treatment program for adolescents, founded in 1984. It offers competitive pay, benefits, and training opportunities. Schedules are available part-time (three shifts per week) or full-time (Saturday–Tuesday or Thursday–Sunday). Shifts generally run from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with some Saturday or Friday shifts ending at 8:00 AM. The schedule will be coordinated upon hire. New hires must successfully complete a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal records.

Requirements

Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night and energetic in the morning to assist students.
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor adolescents successfully.
Assertiveness and willingness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of mental health.
Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
Engaging and empathetic character, balanced with tenacity and determination.
Good problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
Proficient communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Successful completion of a background check, which may include verification of employment history, education, and criminal records.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during the night and provide a safe, secure, and caregiving environment.
Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect and support students who wake during the night or experience escalated moments.
Wake students in the morning and supervise them during their initial morning tasks.
Complete all required paperwork and documentation effectively.
