About The Position

The Night Audit role performs night auditor functions according to hotel policies and procedures during the overnight shift. The position may also perform Manager on Duty responsibilities during the audit shift. Audit experience is preferred but not required. The role is part-time and pays $18.00 per hour at The Clocktower Hotel At Century House LLC in Cohoes, New York. Most positions require weekend and holiday availability.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent math and reasoning skills.
• Ability to deal with intoxicated guests.
• Ability to organize work and use independent judgment to perform tasks.
• Honesty, dependability, and a positive attitude.
• Physical ability to stand, speak, hear, read, write, walk, lift and carry, reach overhead, push, pull, bend, walk stairs, and carry 30–40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Audit experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Register guests promptly and courteously, using upselling techniques to maximize room rates.
• Prepare for group check-ins and check-outs and VIP arrivals; stay informed about hotel events and functions during the shift.
• Check guests out and process payments according to established policies and procedures.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, promote hotel services and facilities, and provide information such as local attractions and directions.
• Resolve minor guest complaints and inform a supervisor about major problems, complaints, disturbances, or unhappy guests.
• Book guest reservations or coordinate with the reservation center.
• Handle departmental accounting, including money, receipts, guest accounts, and other forms of credit; post charges, complete the cashier’s report, prepare deposits, and count the cashier bank.
• Issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
• Reconcile point-of-sale areas for Banquets, Lounge, and Restaurant, including cash, credit-card, and related sales activity.
• Reconcile room rates charged and all revenues to the Property Management System.
• Perform night audit functions in the Property Management System.
• Perform Manager on Duty responsibilities during the audit shift.
