About The Position

KSNV is hiring a creative News Producer to handle the day-to-day production of newscasts. The role works closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and Anchors on newscasts and their content. The News Producer determines newscast content and flow, collaborates with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develops content for the station’s website.

The ideal candidate demonstrates sound news judgment, compelling and accurate writing, the ability to multitask and manage time under deadline, strong leadership and communication skills, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with non-linear editing tools such as Avid and newsroom systems such as iNews is expected. Some previous news-producing experience at a commercial television station is required, though an entry-level candidate may be considered. A journalism degree is preferred.
