About The Position

Chest Medicine Associates is seeking a New Patient Referral Coordinator to be based in the South Portland office. This role involves managing incoming consultation requests, creating and maintaining electronic patient charts, and scheduling new patient appointments.

Requirements

  • High school education or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday-Friday during regular office hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with referrals preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical office environment and familiarity with electronic medical records are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, prioritize, and organize new, incoming requests for consultations.
  • Create charts in electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Enter demographic and insurance information into electronic charts.
  • Scan documents into chart.
  • Ensure the accuracy of patient registration and data entry.
  • Schedule new patient appointments accurately with appropriate phone etiquette.
  • Enroll patients in portal.
