Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is hiring new graduate registered nurses for its March 2027 RN Residency cohort. The position provides family-centered care using the Relationship Based Care model, with attention to relationships with patients, colleagues, and self. The RN applies growth and development principles when caring for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients with acute and chronic conditions, and uses specialty knowledge and nursing processes to support positive outcomes in the assigned care area. The role aligns with the Magnet Model and emphasizes evidence-based practice, quality improvement, professional growth, collaboration, inclusion, and the hospital’s goals and core principles. Residents may be considered for available units after their application is reviewed and are asked to rank units by interest. Unit schedules and orientation vary. Listed unit schedules commonly include nights or rotating day/night shifts, every other weekend, and unit-specific internships; operating room shift and call requirements are determined after orientation. Not all listed units are hiring for this cohort. The cohort start date is March 22, 2027. Applicants must graduate by December 22, 2026, with education verification sent to IDFPR by that date, and test for the NCLEX no later than February 8, 2027. Applications are accepted October 19–26, 2026, with the posting closing at 9 a.m. on October 26. A supplemental form is due by October 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. CST. Interviews are scheduled November 2–December 4, 2026, and offers are expected to begin the week of December 7 until positions are filled. Applicants should upload a resume showing anticipated graduation date and degree, and an unofficial transcript verifying current GPA. The application is not considered complete until follow-up instructions and the supplemental form are completed. The role requires an associate degree in nursing or higher, enrollment in a BSN program within two years of the start date, current Illinois RN licensure, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. Applicants must have less than one year of RN experience at cohort start. The posting also lists a bachelor’s degree in nursing as required under Education. The pay range is $39.00–$64.35 per hour. Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week may be eligible for the benefits package described in the posting.
