About The Position

This Nurse Residency Program is an exciting opportunity for new graduate nurses to take the first step in their professional nursing careers. The program is a 12-month transition-to-practice initiative designed to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based curriculum to support new nurses in developing competence. Supported by the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ curriculum and Memorial Hermann Clinical Development programs, this cohort-focused model allows nurses to grow and develop their skills in a supportive setting. The program aims to help participants develop in three critical areas: leadership, quality outcomes, and professional role, enabling them to transition from an advanced beginner to an exceptional nurse. Memorial Hermann is investing in the future of healthcare, the nursing profession, and the professional futures of its residents.

Requirements

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher in an accredited nursing program.
  • Completion of a nursing degree from an accredited program.
  • Current Texas RN license or temporary permit.
  • BLS Certification from American Heart Association.
  • Available for December 2026 graduates.
  • BSN required for external applicants at most locations (Children's, Cypress, Greater Heights, Katy, Memorial City, Southwest, Sugar Land, The Woodlands, TMC).
  • ADN applicants accepted at Northeast, Pearland, and Southeast locations.
