Nurse Residency Program Spring 2027

St. Joseph HealthBryan, TX
$32 - $51Onsite

About The Position

The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) is designed to support new graduate nurses during their transition from student to licensed Registered Nurse (RN). St. Joseph Health nurse residents receive ongoing professional and educational support from a team of education specialists, nursing leaders, preceptors, and mentors. The program develops critical thinking, evidence-based decision-making, engagement, stress management, and leadership skills through in-person and virtually-enhanced education. It accelerates nursing competency with in-depth experiences, education, and support during the first year, utilizing a competency-based curriculum, trained preceptors, and active mentorship aligned with ANCC Accreditation design and contemporary practices. Newly licensed RNs are supported by CommonSpirit's National Nurse Residency Program during their transition to practice. The program includes a comprehensive, evidence-based clinical orientation and a 12-month transition-to-practice platform. Graduate Nurse Residents are responsible for delivering excellent patient care through assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, intervention planning and implementation, and outcome evaluation. Upon completion of the first year, nurse residents report enhanced self-confidence and practice aligned with St. Luke's mission, vision, and values. Former residents often become mentors, unit leaders, participate in nursing councils, and pursue advanced degrees and certifications.
