About The Position

The new construction sales manager is responsible for driving new business growth by establishing relationships with General Contractors and Mechanical Contractors involved in hotel and Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) construction projects throughout North America. The role focuses on identifying construction projects nearing completion, presenting Verdant's smart thermostat solutions, and converting prospects into long-term contractor partners. This is a true business development role requiring persistence, professionalism, and a passion for building new relationships. The successful candidate will leverage construction project using intelligence tools to identify opportunities, conduct outbound prospecting, schedule virtual product demonstrations, and manage opportunities through the sales pipeline until project completion.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Business Development, Sales, or Account Executive experience.
  • Demonstrated success in outbound prospecting and new customer acquisition.
  • Comfortable making 10–30 outbound prospecting calls daily.
  • Strong presentation and virtual demonstration skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency using CRM software and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling into the construction industry.
  • Existing relationships with General Contractors or Mechanical Contractors.
  • Experience selling HVAC, building automation, energy management, smart building technology, or hospitality-related products.
  • Experience using construction intelligence platforms

Responsibilities

  • Identify new hotel and MDU construction projects throughout North America using construction intelligence and lead generation platforms.
  • Research and qualify General Contractors, Mechanical Contractors, and key project decision-makers.
  • Conduct daily outbound prospecting activities, averaging 10–30 calls per day.
  • Build relationships with contractors not currently engaged with Verdant.
  • Schedule and conduct virtual product demonstrations showcasing Verdant's thermostat solutions.
  • Clearly communicate Verdant's value proposition and the benefits of partnering with our organization.
  • Develop long-term contractor relationships that generate recurring project opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity within the company's CRM. (Salesforce)
  • Collaborate with internal sales, operations, and project teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and project execution.
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity, pipeline, and revenue targets.
  • Stay informed on construction trends, market activity, and competitor offerings.
