About The Position

The New Business Specialist performs a variety of administrative and customer service functions for the MWG-Broker Services Team. The position is a non-exempt, hourly role. The employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of previous administrative or clerical experience.
  • Proficient in computer skills and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • Possess time management, organizational, problem solving, and customer service skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Able to multitask while maintaining attention to details.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must have intermediate typing skills.
  • Must be able to work as scheduled.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, and sit or stand at a desk during 85% of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift, stoop, and carry small equipment items and supplies, possibly weighing up to 20lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in insurance, finance, or other related fields is preferred.
  • Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Process, organize, and update information for new and existing groups.
  • Prepare, organize, update, generate, and issue renewal letters.
  • Keep renewal information for next year and maintain renewal folders on all groups.
  • Process renewal date changes for existing groups.
  • Generate and issue agent loss ratio reports.
  • Maintain Business Management system for new groups and existing groups.
  • Update and maintain sales spreadsheets.
  • Order department supplies.
  • Prepare and update reports for new and existing business.
  • Assist Underwriter & New Business Manager with various tasks.
