About The Position

Posterity Group LLC is seeking a Neurologist to staff The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC). This role involves providing comprehensive neurological care, including inpatient consultations, diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of nervous system disorders, and managing complex neurological conditions. The Neurologist will perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatments, make referrals, and communicate with referring physicians and primary care managers. The position also includes episodic care for clinic patients and evaluation of urgent/emergency cases from the Emergency Room, with occasional consultations for pediatric patients in the ICU. Patients may need to be admitted as required.

Requirements

  • Board certified in Neurology
  • Shall possess a minimum of two (2) years of post-residency clinical experience within the last three (3) years providing direct patient care in neurology.
  • Experience must demonstrate recent hands-on proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and managing a broad range of neurological conditions in accordance with current clinical standards of practice.
  • Background shall reflect competency in conducting and interpreting neurological examinations, ordering and reviewing diagnostic studies, developing treatment plans, and coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient consultation during normal duty hours, and potentially outside of normal duty hours.
  • Perform a wide range of medical duties covering all aspects of disorders involving the nervous system and neurologic disorders with possible multiple overlapping problems.
  • Examine patients, and order and evaluate the full range of tests, including electrophysiology, radiology, and laboratory tests.
  • Make diagnoses and prescribe appropriate treatments, including drugs and behavioral modalities.
  • Make referrals to other specialty clinics.
  • Communicate with patients, referring physicians, and appropriate primary care managers for management of disorders outside the specialty of neurology.
  • Provide recommendations or definitive evaluation for neurology problems.
  • Provide episodic care to clinic patients on a walk-in basis.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with multiple complicated problems screened and referred by the Emergency Room for urgent and emergency neurologic issues.
  • Occasionally consult services for pediatric patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
  • Admit patients as needed.
