About The Position

Ascension St John is looking for a Neurocritical Care Physician to join our stellar team! This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension St John to provide medical services to patients. The position is split between Neurocritical Care and Neurohospitalist shifts. Ascension St. John, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was founded in 1926 by the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother. Beginning with just a 50-bed hospital, Ascension St. John is now an ACS verified level I trauma center that incorporates the skills of more than 800 primary care and specialty physicians, 7,000 employees and 8 medical centers throughout northeastern Oklahoma. Requirements

• Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
