About The Position

South Texas Health System (STHS) McAllen is seeking a full-time, hospital-employed Neurohospitalist to join a team that includes endovascular surgeons in McAllen, Texas. The position focuses exclusively on inpatient neurological care and offers a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation, with no outpatient clinic responsibilities. The schedule is described as 180 shifts per year, with shared call coverage. The physician will work with a multidisciplinary stroke and neurology team in a nationally recognized comprehensive stroke program. STHS McAllen is designated as a Level I stroke facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services and is Joint Commission certified in Hidalgo County. It is also a DNV-GL Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, providing advanced stroke care 24/7. The role uses Cerner electronic medical records and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Requirements

Be board certified or board eligible in Neurology.
Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an active Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient neurohospitalist services, including acute stroke intervention.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
Manage day-to-day inpatient neurological care and shared call responsibilities.
Document patient care using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
