About The Position

The Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime and performance. The role can include designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of network hardware, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field from four-year college or university; or Network Certifications; or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, network security, Cisco Network Software (IOS), network fundamentals.
  • Performs all aspects of the job with minimal assistance from others.
  • Demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude in all aspects of the position.
  • Makes an effort to stay current in the computer science field.
  • Complies with Bachoco USA policies and procedures.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to qualify for the company driver program.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Configuring and installing network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, Access Points, UPS, security cameras, phone systems, DNS and DHCP
  • Installing, repairing, and testing network cable including both copper and fiber
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Documenting hardware location and configurations
  • Monitoring backups and errors on network hardware
  • Investigating, repairing, and reporting on faults in the network
  • Supporting phone system including adding/removing extensions, voicemail, voice quality, phone routing, auto attendant, paging systems.
  • Support security camera systems
  • Maintaining UPS performance for all network and server cabinets
  • Continuously updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases and security patches
  • working with facilities to schedule during production downtime
  • Travel and work within office, poultry plant, feed plant locations
  • Requires a flexible schedule to support facilities in production 24/7 as well as to participate in an on-call 24/7 support rotation.
  • Will be trained to use scissor lifts to aid in support
