About The Position
Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic team. This role supports the region's largest Level III NICU, which is the only one between Memphis and St. Louis. The team collaborates with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure high-quality, comprehensive care. The position involves formulating a plan of care based on assessment, examination, and diagnostic procedures within the scope of practice, and has a collaborative practice agreement with the Neonatologist. The NICU is part of a 306-bed Medical Center and supports a busy OB service with over 1500 births annually, boasting excellent outcomes for NEC and ROP. The role is supported by the area's only full-time perinatology service and expert staff.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Program for Neonatal Nurses OR Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Credentialed and licensed to practice as an Advanced Practice Neonatal Nurse in the State of Missouri OR Credentialed and licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Missouri
- NRP Certification
- BLS Certification
- Requires a minimum of two (2) years' experience in neonatal nursing
- Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak in fluent English
Responsibilities
- Delivers specialty care with a high degree of expertise in perinatal and neonatal health.
- Formulates a plan based on assessment, examination, and selected diagnostic procedures within their scope of practice.
- Provides leadership for the health care team by collaborating with physicians, nursing, case manager, and multi-disciplinary team members to ensure high quality, comprehensive care is delivered.
- Has a collaborative practice agreement with the Neonatologist.
