NEMT Driver
About The Position
SST Mobility provides safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation for clients attending medical appointments, rehabilitation services, dialysis appointments, and community programs. The company is hiring NEMT Drivers, Wheelchair Transport Drivers, Patient Transport Drivers, and Paratransit / Shuttle Drivers. Healthcare experience such as CNA, EMT, or caregiving is valued. Drivers who live within 30 minutes of Nashville are ideal. This position offers guaranteed 35 hours per week, with additional hours available, and up to 40 hours per week. Drivers must be available Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Occasional weekend shifts may be available and are paid at premium rates. There is no overnight or long-haul driving, and routes are planned ahead for consistency. SST Mobility provides company vehicles, paid training, and free NEMT certification, along with a professional dispatch and support team. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required pre-employment screenings, including drug testing. Requirements
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Experience with scheduling passenger pickups and drop-offs.
- Ability to lift, move, push, and/or pull equipment, including lifting in excess of 40 to 70 pounds.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check per state and company standards.
- Willingness to complete required training and certification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize safety while on the road.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Compassionate and caring personality.
Nice To Haves
- One year of prior experience in transportation services is preferred.
- Healthcare experience such as CNA, EMT, or caregiving is valued.
- Living within 30 minutes of Nashville is ideal.
Responsibilities
- Transport clients safely to appointments and community outings.
- Assist passengers with wheelchairs and mobility support.
- Follow scheduled routes and communicate with dispatch.
