About The Position

The National Technical Trainer is a critical field-based role responsible for elevating technical execution, safety, and quality standards across the Driven Glass Canada networks. This role ensures consistency in installation, calibration, and repair processes while supporting the growth of both franchise and corporate locations. Operating in both French and English (Bilingual essential), the trainer will primarily support Quebec and the Maritimes, while also contributing nationally across Canada. This role combines hands-on field training, program development, technician certification, and operational support, ensuring all locations meet brand standards and are equipped to support evolving technology and increasing demand. This role is central to Driven Glass Canada’s ability to scale operations while maintaining best-in-class technical standards. As demand grows and vehicle technology evolves, the National Technical Trainer ensures our teams remain skilled, compliant, and competitive across all regions.

Requirements

  • Bilingual (French & English) – mandatory
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in auto glass installation, repair, and calibration
  • Advanced knowledge of ADAS systems and calibration processes
  • Advanced knowledge of OEM installation standards and safety requirements
  • Proven experience in delivering technical training or coaching in a multi-location environment
  • Strong understanding of shop operations and workflow optimization
  • Exceptional communication and training delivery skills
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to influence without authority
  • High level of accountability and ownership
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong diagnostic capabilities
  • Relationship-driven with strong franchisee engagement skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-person, hands-on technical training in stores across Quebec, Eastern Ontario, Maritimes and other regions as required.
  • Support new store openings (NSO) and existing locations to ensure readiness and operational excellence.
  • Work directly alongside technicians to improve installation techniques, ADAS calibration execution, and repair quality and efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the other National Technical Trainer to ensure alignment on training priorities and execution.
  • Act as a primary technical point of contact for franchisees and store leaders.
  • Manage relationships across assigned regions, with a strong presence in Quebec.
  • Own and manage a structured training calendar, ensuring balanced regional coverage, alignment with operational priorities, and proactive scheduling based on performance gaps and growth needs.
  • Support stores with technical and insurance-related escalations.
  • Diagnose root causes and implement corrective action plans.
  • Work directly with underperforming locations to identify skill gaps, improve adherence to SOPs, and elevate overall technician competency.
  • Track and follow up on progress to ensure sustained improvement.
  • Conduct Field Audit Technical Evaluations with technicians and store leadership.
  • Assess performance across safety, quality, and procedural adherence.
  • Build structured Trainer-led action plans, including coaching and retraining, tooling or setup improvements, and follow-up validation visits.
  • Ensure all technicians meet company certification and quality standards.
  • Plan and deliver quarterly group training sessions in both Quebec, Maritimes and English Canada (primarily Eastern Ontario).
  • Training topics to include but not limited to: New tools and technologies, Calibration processes (ADAS, static/dynamic), Adhesives and safety procedures, Specialty techniques.
  • Gather participant feedback and continuously improve training content and experience.
  • Support the build and rollout of the Technical Glass curriculum within the Education & Training platform.
  • Contribute to training modules including: Glass repair, Replacement procedures, Calibration training.
  • Ensure training content aligns with operational SOPs and field realities.
  • Maintain and evolve the central Technical Hub as the single source of truth.
  • Curate and manage: OEM technical bulletins and updates, Dealer communications and recalls, Training videos and SOP documentation, Troubleshooting guides and FAQs.
  • Support the transition toward a structured digital training ecosystem.
  • Help lead the evolution and implementation of Technician Certification Program.
  • Ensure all active technicians across franchise and corporate stores are properly trained, evaluated, and certified to company standards.
  • Align certification with internal initiatives such as the Master Technician pathway.
  • Evaluate and advise on existing tools, equipment, and shop setups.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and tooling advancements.
  • Support rollout of improved processes and solutions to enhance productivity, efficiency, and technician ergonomics and safety.
