About The Position

The Manager, National Accounts leads a team of National Account Managers responsible for developing, retaining, and growing strategic national collision repair accounts across the United States and Canada. This role provides leadership, coaching, and strategic direction to ensure the successful execution of national account agreements, achievement of business objectives, and delivery of exceptional customer experiences. The Manager serves as the senior liaison between key customers, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on strategic initiatives, operational excellence, account growth, and customer retention. The position is accountable for driving team performance, advancing customer partnerships, supporting paint conversion initiatives, and delivering measurable value across the national account portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the automotive refinish, collision repair, automotive aftermarket, or related industry.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing sales, account management, or customer-facing professionals.
  • Demonstrated success managing strategic national or multi-location customer accounts.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects and complex customer initiatives.
  • Proven track record of developing high-performing teams and delivering business results.
  • Deep understanding of collision repair operations, automotive refinish products, and distribution channels.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and commercial decision-making skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and executive communication skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, and business reporting tools.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50-70% of the time.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, coach, and retain a team of National Account Managers.
  • Establish clear performance objectives, priorities, and development plans for direct reports.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, performance discussions, and field coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Support talent planning, succession development, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Ensure consistent execution of national account strategies and customer support standards across the team.
  • Provide executive-level oversight of strategic national and multi-location customer accounts.
  • Partner with National Account Managers to develop long-term account growth strategies.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with customer leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen customer loyalty, expand business partnerships, and increase market share.
  • Support contract negotiations, renewals, and implementation of national account agreements.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex customer issues and strategic opportunities.
  • Drive achievement of sales, profitability, conversion, retention, and growth objectives across the national account portfolio.
  • Ensure customer business plans align with organizational objectives and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), account performance metrics, and customer satisfaction measures.
  • Analyze trends and business results to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Lead action planning and resource allocation to maximize account performance.
  • Partner with distribution organizations to ensure successful execution of customer agreements.
  • Facilitate alignment among customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support paint conversions and implementation projects through effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Ensure customers fully leverage available products, services, training, and value-added resources.
  • Collaborate with regional sales, technical services, training, marketing, and operations teams to support account success.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning.
  • Promote effective use of Salesforce, Power BI, Office 365, and other business systems.
  • Monitor compliance with business agreements, service level expectations, and operational standards.
  • Lead customer business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
  • Identify and implement best practices across the national account team.
