About The Position

We are hiring a full-time National Account Manager to join the Source for Good Foods Department at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. For nearly 50 years, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee has dedicated itself to nourishing and empowering their neighbors so they can thrive. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Second Harvest implements sustainable solutions to food insecurity through a strategically selected network of more than 600 partners across 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee. Our partners include food pantries, congregate meal sites, shelters, childcare facilities, senior centers, group homes, and youth enrichment programs. The National Account Manager provides expert marketing, sales, and customer service support to the assigned Food Banks supplied by Source For Good Foods, a social enterprise operated by Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The goal of the National Account Manager is to serve as the full-service provider of shelf-stable foods, assembled food boxes and other items of need for network foodbanks across the U.S., resulting in increased sales and revenues in the assigned territory. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Business Administration or Marketing majors preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and marketing or equivalent experience in the food industry or non-profit organizations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to build & develop relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Learn new databases and software and utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as NetSuite
  • Interact with other members of the organization with confidence and professionalism.
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities
  • Combination of education, experience, and/or training that provides the required knowledge and skills for the position may be considered in lieu of education/experience at the organization’s discretion.
  • Acceptable results from the following: professional reference feedback, criminal background, Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Current Driver’s License and automobile insurance are also required.

Responsibilities

  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Provides analysis of each Food Bank’s specific purchase requirements, taking into consideration the most economical method for purchasing and the most efficient means of logistics and transportation.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Visits Food Banks on a rotating basis based on tiering and volume.
  • Works closely with the mixing centers and the corporate office to ensure proper coordination and delivery on assembled products and mixed loads.
  • Emphasizes the benefits obtained by our mixing centers to promote mixed load and assembled product sales.
  • Achieving organizations budgetary goals.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain on product and inventory needs, while utilizing marketing tools to drive sales and awareness for Source for Good Foods.
  • Analyzes customer purchase history and trends.
  • Stays abreast of customer requests and needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
