About The Position

Full Time live-out Educator/Nanny/Family Assistant required for a loving SoHo family with 3 children (ages 4, 9 and 11 yrs old) starting ASAP. You will be responsible for all child-related duties including interacting with their children in a stimulating, and age-appropriate way, with a primary focus on the older children. During the hours that the children are at school, you would support the family with broader coordination and execution of family management tasks (e.g., schedules, activities, groceries, organizing, etc.). The candidate should enjoy working alongside a supportive household team. The ideal person should have strong attention to detail, be reliable, show initiative, and have good instincts with daily tasks. Both parents travel for work occasionally, so a reliable and dependable individual is essential. Some travel during the summer and occasional overnights are expected (the family owns a home in CT). The family has a hypoallergenic Goldendoodle.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the US
  • A clean driver's license
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • An understanding of managing a household with children
  • A well-suited demeanor for working with multiple school age children
  • Experience working with children with ADHD and/or special needs
  • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
  • Education (four-year college degree from an accredited university) or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
  • Ability to commit for a minimum of 2 years for all permanent positions
  • An open and flexible schedule and ability to travel

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with a teaching background are strongly preferred, especially special-needs educators (oldest child is neurodiverse/ADHD).
  • Preference for candidates who are comfortable driving.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all child-related duties including interacting with children in a stimulating, and age-appropriate way, with a primary focus on the older children.
  • Support the family with broader coordination and execution of family management tasks (e.g., schedules, activities, groceries, organizing, etc.) during school hours.
  • Manage house related tasks (schedules, travel, logistics) to ensure the smooth running of a busy home.
  • Complete all child related duties including meal preparation, cleaning up/tidying bedroom and play areas, laundry, researching and planning playdates and activities.
  • Travel during the summer and occasional overnights are expected.
