MWR Golf Course Manager

About The Position

Responsible for the operation and maintenance of a golf course, including its nine holes, fairways, and greens. Provides technical advice and equipment, and schedules and conducts tournaments and special events. Duties may include instructing member golfers, operating a pro shop and golf cart rental, and managing an eating facility. Plans and organizes work and manages internal resources to support productivity and cost-effective operations. Prepares financial plans, budgets, inventories, cost controls, and related records and reports; reviews the activity’s financial status and recommends changes as needed. Manages activity employees directly or through subordinate supervisors, including training, scheduling, performance appraisal, counseling, and recommending personnel actions. Supports the Navy Equal Employment Opportunity policy and ensures compliance with fire, safety, security, sanitation, hazardous-material-handling, and other environmental requirements. Manages new property resources and advises on renovations and improvements. Maintains security of funds, merchandise, supplies, and equipment to prevent or minimize fraud, waste, and abuse. Remains alert to alcohol abuse and takes appropriate action. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Pass all applicable records and background checks.
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check and resolve any discrepancies as a condition of employment.
Possess professional knowledge of golf operations and maintenance, including three years of experience.
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Know pertinent safety, occupational health, and environmental regulations, including matters relating to chemicals, spray, and other agents.

Nice To Haves

Active Class A membership in the Professional Golfers’ Association of America is preferred.
Knowledge of NAF policies and procedures is preferred.

Maintain and enforce security for funds, merchandise, supplies, and equipment to minimize fraud, waste, and abuse.
Remain alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
